weather: 8 am 19C wind WNW 11, 12:00m 21 C wind NNW 7, sunny
tide: 10:30 am 1.1 m rising
A waxing moon and very low tides.
Clear weather, mild, not hot. Unlike the previous posting, not many offshore birds, but there are beginning to be flocks of songbirds.
Six goldfinch, the males very bright.
The riverbank is accessible once more after the disruptive work intended to make the salmon migration more successful and to restore the effects of last winter's atmospheric rivers.
The flock of young mergansers has almost grown up. They were swimming along together, fishing happily.
They appeared to be catching what I'd think were salmon fry.
This week will be busy but with disruptions. Today (Tuesday) I was part of an eightieth birthday barbecue and potluck for a long-term resident of my mobile home park. Rain is forecast for tomorrow morning (who knows?). Thursday we're back hauling lamium out of the Shelly Creek Park. Weather permitting, back to the Estuary on Friday.
